Haiti 2009
Imagine trying to live on less than $2 a day and facing the fear of hunger, disease and death for you and your family. For 80% of Haiti’s population, there is no need to imagine this situation; it is their reality.
Last year we were able to save countless lives in Haiti by giving 320 tons of food and relief supplies to not only stem the agony of chronic poverty but also in response to the hurricane-devastated areas of the country. Our partner, Susie Krabacher of Mercy and Sharing Foundation in Port au Prince, said the Haitian people were living in the worst conditions she had seen in 14 years. Susie and her group of workers were struggling to support 4,600 Haitians, mostly women and children, with the basic necessities of life—food & water. They were in desperate need of help and so grateful for the tons of supplies that came because of compassionate friends like you.
The truth of the matter is that these supplies are running out.
Even though we may consider ourselves to be in tough economic times, we are still blessed and much better off than most. Suffering souls in Haiti need your help. Please pray for the “innocents”—the children, the abandoned, and the elderly… and please act. Your generous gift of $25, $50, or $100 will help rush life-saving food to those in need. Answer the call now, whatever it is that you feel led to do… help us continue bringing hope to this country.
Your gift today will become an expression of God’s love and a lifeline of hope for the children and vulnerable of Haiti. It will also be a bold expression of your faith in God in troubled times, that He is your Provider and that your expectation is from Him:
“Whoever has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed.”
Proverbs 19:17
